Here is an easy recipe for a delicious and damp cake.

Ingredients:
- All purpose flour ____________ 1 1/2 cups
- Baking powder ______________ 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda _________________ 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt __________________________ 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter (softened)_____________ 1/2 cup ( 1 stick)
- Sugar ________________________ 1 cup
- Eggs _________________________ 2 large
- Vanilla Extract ______________ 1 teaspoon
- Buttermilk __________________ 1 cup
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Beat in the vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Beat until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
