Beef Stew Recipe |
A delicious and easy beef stew recipe that serves 6 people:
Ingredients:
Beef Stew Meat _______ 2 pounds , (cut into 1-inch cubes)
All-Purpose Flour _______ 3 tablespoons
Olive Oil ________________ 2 tablespoons
Onion, Chopped _________1 large
Garlic, Minced __________ 3 cloves
Beef Broth ______________ 4 cups
Chopped Carrots ________ 2 cups
Chopped Potatoes ______ 2 cups
Chopped Celery _________ 1 cup
Dried Thyme ____________ 2 teaspoons
Bay Leaf ________________ 1
Salt _____________________ to taste
Black pepper ____________ to taste
Instructions:
In a large bowl, toss the beef cubes with the flour until coated.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Add the chopped onion to the pot and fry until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the beef broth to the pot and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Add the browned beef, chopped carrots, chopped potatoes, chopped celery, dried thyme, and bay leaf to the pot. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for 1-1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
Serve the beef stew hot, garnished with fresh parsley or thyme, if desired.
